Welcome to New Hope Chapel Baptist Church.

Where Christ is Our Hope.

Who We Are

  • At New Hope Chapel Baptist Church, our faith is rooted in the truth of God’s Word and centered on Jesus Christ. We believe the Bible is the inspired and trustworthy Word of God and our final authority in all matters of faith and life. We believe there is one God who exists eternally as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God, born of a virgin, who lived a sinless life, died on the cross for our sins, and rose again, offering salvation to all who place their faith in Him.

Salvation is a gift of God’s grace, received through repentance and faith—not by works. We believe the Holy Spirit lives within every believer, guiding, convicting, and helping us grow in Christ. As a church family, we practice believer’s baptism by immersion and observe the Lord’s Supper in remembrance of Him. We eagerly look forward to the return of our Lord and are committed to sharing the hope of the Gospel with our community and beyond.

  • New Hope Chapel Baptist Church started in the most humble and meaningful way — in the living room of Drew and Darlene Brown on April 20, 1997. It wasn’t about a building. It was about people with a heart to see their community reached for Christ. With simple faith and a lot of prayer, that first service marked the beginning of something only God could grow.

As the weeks passed, the Lord made it clear that He was building something special. He opened the door to an old blue jean factory right here in Rome, Georgia. It didn’t look like a church at first — but with many willing hands, long days of work, laughter, and more than a few unforgettable stories, it became one. On April 25, 1999, we gathered in our renovated sanctuary for the very first time. It was a day filled with gratitude and joy.

Over the years, our church family continued to grow. We found ourselves needing more space to gather, eat, and spend time together. In the fall of 2005, construction began on what we now call the “Upper Room.” In April 2008, we shared our first meal there — another sweet reminder that God provides exactly what His people need.

From a living room to where we stand today, every step has been guided by the Lord’s faithfulness. New Hope Chapel is more than a building — it’s a church family. We’re thankful for our past, grateful for the present, and full of hope for what God will continue to do in the days ahead.with purpose at every turn.

What Hope Means to Us

Meet the Pastor

Dr. Drew Brown has faithfully served as pastor of New Hope Chapel Baptist Church since its very first service in April of 1997. From the beginning days in his living room to the renovation of an old blue jean factory into a place of worship, he has led with steady faith, vision, and a heart for people. Through hard work, prayer, and perseverance, he helped guide the transformation of the building and has faithfully shepherded the growth of the congregation ever since.

Dr. Brown earned his Doctor of Theology degree from Covington Theological Seminary, grounding his ministry in strong biblical teaching and sound doctrine. Drew also holds an Associates in Sacred Literature, Bachelor of Theology, Master of Ministry in Theology, and Doctorate of Ministry in Theology. His greatest desire has always been to preach the Word of God clearly, love the church family well, and reach the community for Christ.

Serving faithfully beside him is his wife, Darlene Brown. From the very first service held in their home, she has been his constant support and encouragement. Darlene lovingly serves as the church pianist and has been a faithful right hand in the ministry, supporting and caring for the church family in countless ways. Together, they have poured their lives into New Hope Chapel, and we are deeply thankful for their dedication and love for the Lord and His people.
